The Emir of Qatar has urged U.S. President Donald Trump to collaborate in efforts to bring lasting peace and stability to the region, highlighting the significance of U.S.-Qatari cooperation across multiple sectors.
Speaking during Trump’s visit to Qatar on Wednesday, the Emir expressed optimism that the engagement would boost bilateral ties and open a new chapter of mutual understanding.
The leaders met at the Amiri Diwan, where they delivered opening remarks.
“Today we are going to discuss a lot of things like investment, energy, military cooperation, and security as well. It is so exciting. Also, one of the important things is bringing peace in the region,” the Emir said.
He emphasized the long-standing relationship between the two leaders and appealed for a united push toward resolving conflicts and promoting regional harmony.
“President Trump, I have known you for many years. I know that you are a man of peace. I know that you want to bring peace to this region. We hope that this time we can do the wise thing and bring peace to this region. We all want to do so, and we hope that this time around we can do the right thing and bring peace here,” he added.
President Trump responded warmly, expressing appreciation for the Emir’s friendship and Qatar’s hospitality.
“I want to thank you for everything and particularly our friendship. It’s been a very loyal and beautiful friendship,” Trump said.
He praised the aesthetics of the Amiri Diwan, noting the elegance of its architecture.
“As a construction person, I’m seeing perfect marble,” said Trump.
Trump also reaffirmed his willingness to collaborate with Qatar on global peace initiatives.
He stated: “I look forward to working with Qatar in the highest capacity on peace building efforts.”
The visit marked a significant diplomatic engagement as both leaders explored avenues for strengthening cooperation—from investment and energy to military and security.
