Barwani: Two were killed when a truck rammed into parked truck and overturned on
Agra-Bombay National Highway
under Sendhwa rural police station area of Barwani district on Tuesday.
Investigation officer Sanjeev Patil told TOI that a truck loaded with pipes was parked near the toll plaza in Jamli for three days after breaking down. Mechanics Zafar and Akbar, residents of Sendhwa, were repairing it, when a speeding truck heading towards Pithampur from Mumbai, carrying raw rubber, collided with parked truck and a car carrying five people from Indore, and overturned. Zafar and Akbar were hit by the truck, and truck driver Ramesh Yadav, 40, of Muzaffarpur district of Uttar Pradesh was also injured.
Patil said that Zafar and Ramesh succumbed to their injuries and Akbar was admitted to Civil Hospital of Sendhwa, from where he was referred to district hospital. Patil said that the car was badly damaged but the five travellers managed to escape.
