Radisson Hotel Group Accelerates Global Expansion with 37,000+ New Rooms, Leading European Growth and Beyond
(IN SHORT)
(PRESS RELEASE) BRUSSELS/ BERLIN, 2025-Apr-2 — /Travel PR News/ — Radisson Hotel Group is building on an exceptional 2024, its most successful year ever in terms of signings and openings, by celebrating the (re)opening of Radisson Collection Hotel, Berlin and launching into 2025 with a robust expansion plan. The Group is set to add over 37,000 rooms to its portfolio across key European markets—as well as in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia—to further drive tourism growth.
Elie Younes, Executive Vice President and Global Chief Development Officer at Radisson Hotel Group, commented, “‘From good to great’ best encapsulates the evolution of our European network. We continue to lead the upper-upscale segment, both in urban and resort markets. With Radisson Blu maintaining its position as the largest upper-upscale brand in Europe for over a decade, alongside Radisson Collection and Radisson RED, we are expanding our reach with new destinations and exciting collaborations—from partnerships at the Porsche Design Tower in Stuttgart to alliances with Manchester City Football Club in the UK, as well as new projects in Barcelona, Madrid, London, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Milan, Zurich, Amsterdam, Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, the Canary Islands, Cortina, Sardinia, and more. We deeply appreciate the trust our owners have placed in us and the generosity of our teams.”
The year began with the grand opening of the Radisson Collection Hotel, Berlin—a new lifestyle luxury landmark in the vibrant Mitte district, close to iconic sites such as the Berlin Cathedral and Museumsinsel. Redesigned following the December 2022 incident, the hotel now features a spectacular “Living Tree” installation in its lobby, symbolizing renewal and elegance. This reopening is accompanied by the signing of a Radisson RED Hotel in Berlin and a new Radisson property in Krefeld. The latter is part of a mixed-use development, while the Berlin RED Hotel is undergoing modernization ahead of its late-2026 opening. Additionally, a Prize by Radisson hotel in Osnabrück, along with two further Radisson properties, are set to open later this year.
Elie Younes further noted that, “In addition to these new signings, we have recently finalized agreements for three new Radisson Individuals hotels that will add another 314 rooms to our German portfolio, underscoring our strategic focus on this key market.” The German portfolio now totals 64 hotels, both operational and in development, across 9 different brands, representing the largest Radisson Hotel Group presence in any European country.
Radisson Hotel Group’s growth strategy continues to emphasize the importance of market relevance and efficiency, with 65% of its owner base holding multiple hotels and half retaining their properties for over 20 years. The Group’s expansion in Europe has been remarkable, with recent signings in Norway—including the region’s first Radisson Individuals and Prize by Radisson hotels—and in the United Kingdom, where new developments such as the Medlock Hotel at the Etihad Campus and a 180-key Radisson hotel at Oxford United Football Club’s new all-electric stadium have been announced. In Iberia, further expansions in Spain and Portugal, as well as flagship developments in Paris and new ventures in the Middle East, Asia Pacific, and India, highlight Radisson’s global growth trajectory. With a robust pipeline, Radisson Hotel Group is poised for another record-breaking year in 2025.
