Tinubu Lauds Qatari Investment Plans In Agriculture, Food Security
President Bola Tinubu welcomed new investments from Qatar, particularly in agriculture and food security, during a meeting with Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, on Thursday
Al-Khulaifi announced that a Qatari business delegation will visit Nigeria soon to explore opportunities in agriculture, food security, and petrochemicals.
Tinubu emphasised Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening ties with Qatar and implementing bilateral agreements.

“We are making efforts to reform our tax system… you can’t find a better partner than Nigeria,” Tinubu said. He also highlighted that Nigeria is undergoing reforms to create a more investor-friendly environment.
“I made tough decisions so that we could grow. We are gradually seeing the light at the end of the tunnel,” he added.
Al-Khulaifi affirmed Qatar’s interest in deeper ties with Nigeria, particularly in agriculture, and expressed confidence in the country’s potential as a strategic partner in Africa.
“We are proud of the level of relations we have reached with Nigeria… We have much to do together in agriculture, food, and petrochemicals,” he remarked.
The visit signals growing cooperation between the two nations, particularly in sectors critical to Nigeria’s economic development, as both leaders expressed optimism about future partnerships.
