Speaking in an emotional interview with Citizen TV, Chesoni recounted the terrifying events that unfolded on Tuesday, June 24, when he was allegedly whisked away by armed men in broad daylight.

CCTV footage captured the moment he was bundled into a grey Subaru by individuals he described as law enforcement officers, one of whom fired into the air to scatter bystanders before speeding off with him.

Chesoni, who appeared visibly shaken during the interview, revealed that he was cuffed and transported to a forest in Voi by seven armed men.

There, he was subjected to relentless beatings as they interrogated him about who was funding him and why.

“Walikuwa wananitishia, wananiambia unaweza patikana hauna mkono, kama umekufa, hizi number plate ziko kwa hii gari ni fake, sisi hakuna mtu anatujua so wewe tuambie nani anawafund ama tutakumaliza,” he narrated.

He claimed the alleged officers remained in constant communication with an unknown party, providing updates as the ordeal unfolded.

Although they presented IDs, Chesoni said the identification cards bore no names, only the words police service.

The content creator also detailed the mental anguish he endured, saying they threatened to leave him in the forest to be devoured by wild animals.

“They were telling me this is the last time people are seeing me, asking why I thought I could fight the government. They mentioned Albert Ojwang as an example of what could happen to me,” he said, referencing another victim whose case remains unresolved.

Additionally, Chesoni claimed that after the brutal assault in the forest, he was transported back to Mombasa and taken to State House, where the beatings continued.

He said he was later given medical attention and issued a stern warning to remain silent about the incident.

“Before we reached Voi, I was so down mentally I was ready to make my last wish. When we got theyr and they pulled me out of th car, they were telling me There won’t even be a grave for you, they said," he explained.

Despite surviving the ordeal, Chesoni said he remains a man on edge.

He disclosed that he is expected to report to the Anti-Terror Police Unit on Monday, June 30, but fears for his safety.

“I am not a man at peace. They camped outside my house for two days. You can imagine. The only place I feel safe is here in my house,” he said.

Separately, Bernard Kavuli, one of five individuals freed by their captors on January 6, shared details of his 15-day abduction.

He narrated enduring brutal conditions, including physical assaults and starvation.

Kavuli, who was taken on December 22, 2024, from a petrol station in Ngong, said he was detained in two different places.

After five days, he was transferred to what he suspected to be a forest where he stayed until he was freed.
