'The Valley' Star Brittany Cartwright Denies She Prevented Jax Taylor from Seeing Their Son After His Rehab Stint: "He Didn't Even Ask." - The Ashley's Reality Roundup
is standing her ground.
On this week’s episode of and accompanying after-show, the soon-to-be-ex-Mrs. shredded her estranged husband’s repeated claims that she prevented him from seeing their son after he got out of rehab.
“Like, are you kidding me?” Brittany said in the after-show.
“Your first-off going to say, like try to make me look bad after you were in rehab for 30 freakin’ days that I’m not going to let you, like, see your son? I took Cruz to the park to meet up with him even in rehab, I would have let him see him. He didn’t even ask.”
Jax, naturally, stuck to his story.
“That’s not true at all,” he countered on the after-show. “She said, ‘Listen, I’m not ready yet to let you see him yet,’ and I was like, ‘OK, well when can I see him? When can I see him?’ ‘I’m not ready yet, I’m not ready.’ It’s actually just the opposite.”
No matter how many times he repeats the claim, his castmates aren’t buying it.
“Whatever Brittany says is absolutely the truth, Brittany doesn’t lie,” said on the after-show. “She does let Jax see Cruz. The one rule that she has had since the second he got out is that Cruz was not allowed at his condo because she did not trust that he wouldn’t have dugs there, have alcohol or have strangers over, which is a very fair assessment.”

Jax’s actions, as well as his words, could be his downfall in this situation. This week’s episode detailed how the bar owner (?) spent his time after leaving a treatment facility, which included a celebratory dinner with friends at The Smoke House Restaurant and some “self-care.”
“Did a little self-care, went and got my haircut, got a little Botox, would really like to see my son at some point, but I gotta do all the moving and stuff tomorrow,” Jax told Kristen at a party held the day after he left the facility. “I just wanna be out of there so she can do what she wants.”
For Brittany, these post-rehab outings showed just where Jax’s priorities were, with himself and not his son.
“He did not ask me about seeing Cruz at all and I could not believe it,” she said in the after-show. “I think that he was excited to film again, excited to get his Botox again, get back with the boys again.
“I mean, he came to [’s boyfriend] Benji’s party and still hadn’t even seen Cruz yet.”

According to Brittany, it was almost a week before Jax saw his son. Since filming wrapped, she and Jax have been sharing custody of Cruz, with the preschooler primarily with his mom in the family home.
At least one of her friends thinks the current custody arrangement is too generous to Jax.
“If anything, I would prevent Jax from seeing Cruz more,” Zack said in the after-show. “I have told Brittany if he really thinks this is what’s going to get him better or, like, he’s doing it for his son, OK, he doesn’t need to see his son right now, like, it’s not healthy for him, he needs to get better and then he can see him later, but Brittany is such a soft heart, she wants to include him in the big things, so she’ll drug test him, let him come to the birthday, she’ll give him the responsibility of pizza, which he f***ed up, and, like, but he did pay for it, he did pay for it, so I will give him, I will give credit where credit’s due.”
