The new body horror film was a fan favorite at SXSW this year, receiving great reviews like this one from JoBlo critic .
The film was purchased by Neon and is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide on July 30. Hopefully they can meet that mark because the filmmakers are being sued.
It was the screening at that may get it dinged for originality.
Producers and , of a different film, were in attendance and immediately thought something looked fishy. The duo is behind the 2020 independent film which they allege was ripped-off by and . They contend after watching Together, elements of the film are direct copies of plot points from their movie.
According to the filing states:
“As the audience laughed and cheered, Jacklin and Beale sat in stunned silence, their worst . Scene after scene confirmed that Defendants did not simply take ‘stock ideas’ or ‘scenes a faire’ but stole virtually every unique aspect of ‘Better Half’s’ copyrightable expression.”
Even more damning is that Jackson and Beale allege they approached Brie and Franco about their film in 2020 but it was rejected.
“In both ‘Better Half’ and ‘Together,’ the main characters struggle to navigate daily life as their physical attachment progresses and they start to control each other’s body parts.”
A spokesperson for the defense said, “The facts in this case are clear and we plan to vigorously defend ourselves.”

Actress said she won’t be seeing the latest Final Destination movie out of spite.
The actress and star is a bit bitter that she wasn’t included in this latest entry. Of course, she seems like she’s half joking.
asked her at a junket if she likes horror movies.
“I am a horror person. Just not that horror person, you know what I mean? Plus, I didn’t die! They didn’t bring me back! So no,” she laughed.
Machado was a part of that iconic highway scene in part two where a logging truck spills it payload send huge tree trunks into traffic causing a horrific pile up.

The early reviews are in, and is scoring big among critics.
We haven’t had a new chapter in this series for over a decade so a sequel is something fans are eager to experience. But sometimes mainstream critics aren’t in on what makes these movies fun and can go hard depending on their mood.
The good news is, this entry has been getting positive reviews already. The film officially opens in theaters on May 16.
