The judge of the National Court María Tardón has sent this Thursday to provisional prison to the former two of the Ministry of Interior with the Government of the PP Francisco Martínez for its alleged link with the cyberattack network that would be led by the ‘hacker’ Alcasec. Legal sources have informed EFE of the decision adopted this Thursday by the magistrate, who has agreed for pretrial detention without bail for the former Secretary of State for Security until the police ensure the databases supposedly created by Alcasec for the consultation of information obtained illicitly.

The alleged criminal organization that makes up Alcasec and Martínez elaborated “profiles” of people and institutions based on the information that stole from confidential databases. And once those “profiles” were prepared, they put them on sale, they report legal sources.

The Police General Police Station arrested Jose Luis Huertas, aka ‘Alcasec’ on Tuesday, Francisco Martínez and two other people accused of crimes of criminal organization, revelation of secrets and money laundering. Alcasec, Martínez and a third detainee are in police units, in the ‘headquarters’ of Canillas, waiting to make judicial arrangements tomorrow. The fourth involved is detained in Andorra and the process for extradition will begin.

The subtracted information was achieved by means of repeated cyber attacks and intrusions that were planned against systems of public and private organizations and that have been executed in a sustained way for years. The alleged criminal organization would have developed a sophisticated and highly compartmentalized technological infrastructure, designed to maximize the extraction, storage, processing and exploitation of the data that they obtained illegally, minimizing their legal and operational exposition, the aforementioned sources report.

From this progressive accumulation of data, they add, the organization developed detailed profiles of people and institutions with the objective of maximizing their capacity for control, strategic exploitation and marketing of sensitive information.

The investigation began as a result of the denunciation of a public institution that suffered an illicit access to its computer services, which caused the massive personal data feft of mobile phone line holders. The cause has had the cooperation of the Andorran and Swiss authorities. Police sources confirm that it is an attack to the neutral point to the General Council of the Judiciary, through which data from the Ministry of Finance was accessed or other reserved data of the State Security Forces and Forces. This cyber attack by Alcasec is prosecuted and the Prosecutor’s Office asks for three years in jail. What is investigated in this new piece is the sale of the data that were subtracted from there.

Police investigate Martínez in two lines. On the one hand, the agents investigate that the computer pirate would have provided Martínez information obtained through their cyber attacks in its stage after the Ministry of Interior, they inform Eldiario.es police sources. The agents have registered Martínez’s domicile in Madrid. On the other hand, the researchers investigate Martínez as a lawyer, after their stage in the interior, and that would have been carried out for José Luis Huertas, known as ‘Alcasec’, outside the legality.

Sources close to Martínez say that Martínez was a lawyer from Alcasec when the ‘hacker’ was a minor. Subsequently, he provided his professional services to establish two societies. Police, according to Martínez’s surroundings, investigates whether Alcasec used these companies to bleach money from the crime. The environment of the former Secretary of State for Security defends that Martínez neither administered those societies, nor managed, nor led his accounting. In this regard, they affirm that the lawyer charged 1,500 euros for that service and that it is the only invoice that the police handle against former interior number.
