The best model-off-duty street style at London Fashion Week FW25
There's been no shortage of looks to admire on the runway so far. At SS Daley, literal works of art appeared before us, as designer Steven Stokey-Daley enlisted the bold, colourful work of four Scottish painters to bring his pieces to life. Harris Reed told a more sculptural story, kicking off the week with a show at the Tate Britain on Thursday evening brimming with punk references (and a cameo by none other than Florence Pugh). And Simone Rocha lent heavily into the castlecore aesthetic, with a similarly star-studded runway cast of Alexa Chung and Fiona Shaw.
Here at RUSSH, while we'll always be enamoured with the goings on on the runway, we can't help but also take notice of those in-between moments — as models slip out of their new-season garb and into their (equally chic) street style looks. In typical British fashion, the weather has been less than kind to the models so far, with an icey chill and the threat of rain looming over most of the schedule. But runway regulars of LFW have proven they're more than up to the task, stepping out in a catalogue of effortlessly cool layers that have us dreaming of a not-so-distant Australian winter. Unsurprisingly, outerwear has been the MVP of the week so far, with vintage-looking bombers, faux fur coats (and regular trenches with faux-fur trimmings), puffer jackets, and oversized blazers reigning supreme. Completing the looks has been an array of denim (some baggy, some boot-cut), plus accessories that are as chic as they are warm.
