Forward George Turkson Jr. is one of four players from Texas A&M that have since relocated to Maryland. Turkson Jr. joins guard Andre Mills, small forward Solomon Washington and power forward Pharrel Payne. The 6’7” forward took a redshirt in his first season with the Aggies. Turkson was a four-star recruit per the 247Sports Composite rankings and was a top 100 prospect in his recruiting class.
Turkson and Mills both redshirted last season as freshmen and were AAU teammates so it’s not a huge surprise the pair both transferred to Maryland.
“He’s powerful. He’s a really good person,” Mills said about coach Buzz Williams. “It’s bigger than basketball. It’s not just about basketball. It’s about a family, it’s about a foundation, it’s about being together.”
Turkson Jr. will have four seasons of eligibility remaining starting with the 2025-26 campaign.
