The Tennessee Vols are set to take on the Kentucky Wildcats on Friday evening in Indianapolis in a much-anticipated Sweet 16 matchup.
And Tennessee basketball will have a fan favorite VFL in the crowd in Indianapolis supporting them.
Former Volunteers offensive lineman Trey Smith, who was recently franchised tagged by the Kansas City Chiefs, revealed during a conversation with Kay Adams this week that he'll be in attendance for the Sweet 16.
"Hey, Vols hoops, y'all got it baby," said Smith when asked what his message is to Tennessee's basketball team. "Coach (Rick) Barnes, do your thing. I'll be down in Indy, let's get it. Go Vols baby."
The Vols can certainly use all the support they can get in Indianapolis as there should be plenty of Kentucky fans in Indianapolis to support the Wildcats (Lexington is just three hours away from Indy while Knoxville is a little over five hours away from Indy). The more orange in the crowd the better for the Vols.
Tennessee went 0-2 against Kentucky during the regular season, so the Vols should have plenty of motivation in a game that could get the program one step closer to its first ever Final Four appearance.
