Taraba Deputy Governor Returns to Jalingo After Absence

Alhaji Aminu Alkali, the Deputy Governor of Taraba State, has returned to Jalingo, the state capital, following an absence of approximately four months. According to Daily Trust, the Deputy Governor arrived at Danbaba Suntai Airport in Jalingo via a chartered aircraft at 1:40 pm. No journalists were present at the airport during his arrival because they were not notified in advance.
Sources indicate that the Deputy Governor was initially transported to Abuja for treatment of an undisclosed illness before being transferred to Egypt for intensive medical care.
A reporter attached to the Deputy Governor’s office informed Daily Trust that they were aware of the Deputy Governor’s return to Jalingo but received no prior notification. The absence of a press secretary for the Deputy Governor made it challenging to obtain official confirmation at the time of reporting. However, Mr. Emmanuel Bello, the Senior Assistant to the Governor on Media and Digital Communications, confirmed the Deputy Governor’s return but did not provide any further details.
