Take a peek: Star-studded Uber Eats ad for Super Bowl 2025 featuring Matthew McConaughey
Super Bowl Sunday is incomplete without a star-studded commercial lineup that viewers are known to rank, criticize and discuss in real-time on social media — and for several days after.
This year, Uber Eats delivers just that, featuring an all-star lineup with Kevin Bacon, Greta Gerwig, Martha Stewart, Charli XCX, Sean Evans and one of Texas' favorite celebrities, Matthew McConaughey, who starts out the commercial.
Originally released on Tuesday, Feb. 4, the Texas native discusses his football conspiracy theory and how he believes the sport was invented to sell food.
"Looking from the very beginning, football has been a conspiracy to make us hungry," he says as the camera zooms in on his face and he holds a wing with an Uber Eats bag propped in front of him.

As McConaughey delves into his theory, he reenacts key moments in football history with the help of fellow celebrities. The scene cuts to 1876, the birth of football, where McConaughey, dressed in colonial garb, holds a football and explains its nickname, "pigskin," claiming it was designed to "make people crave bacon." At that moment, Kevin Bacon appears and exclaims, "Everybody loves bacon!"
McConaughey continues with similar theories throughout the commercial, including a playful connection between the Buffalo Bills and buffalo wings as he sits at a table devouring them. He deepens his food-driven conspiracy, and soon, Sean Evans, host of "Hot Ones," joins in with his signature spicy food expertise.
McConaughey points at someone at the table and says, "Pick out a good name for Buffalo, Bill," as if he's orchestrating the entire sport's food-related evolution.
The commercial shifts to McConaughey discussing Omaha steaks and the Chicago Bears, with each celebrity cameo — Martha Stewart and Charli XCX still in the mix — adding another layer to his over-the-top explanation.
Just as McConaughey becomes fully immersed in his wild theory, he's interrupted by "Barbie" director Greta Gerwig, who asks, "You want me to make a movie about a football conspiracy?"
She gently lets him down, saying, "No one believes that football was invented to sell..." before being cut off by a voiceover: "Food! When football makes you hungry, order Uber Eats!"
