Shooting guard Oliver Sassella (187-SG-2006) had a great game in the last round for Lugano Tigers, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 24.
The 18-year old player recorded a triple-double of 34 points adding also 11 rebounds and 10 assists, while his team beat Starwings (#7, 6-16) 87-78. Lugano maintains the 9th position in Swiss SBL. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 17 games and recorded just four victories. In the team's last game Sassella had a remarkable seven three-pointers out of 10 attempts. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Oliver Sassella averages this season 8.4ppg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Jalen Brooks (196-F-1999, agency: Players Group) of

BBC Nyon. Brooks had a very good evening with a double-double of 35 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Nyon was edged by the lower-ranked Monthey-Chablais (#8, 6-16) 86-83. Nyon managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 10-12 record. Brooks is a newcomer at Nyon, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.1ppg (#2). He also registered 11.4 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Lugano's star - American forward Antonio Ballard (198-F-1988). Ballard showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, 17 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. He was another key player of Lugano Tigers, helping his team with a

87-78 win against slightly higher-ranked Starwings (#7, 6-16). Lugano can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 4-17 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Ballard has individually a great season in Switzerland. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.8ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 13.4rpg (#1 in league). Ballard attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
