Super Metro Introduces New Routes in Nairobi After Months of Suspension

Public Service Vehicle (PSV) matatu operator Super Metro has launched a new route in Nairobi.

The company, which faced regulatory issues last month, staged a new terminal at Kencom in Nairobi Central Business District (CBD).

The Kencom Super Metro Sacco Terminus started operations on Monday, May 5, and ply the Community, Kenyatta National Hospital, Ngong Road and other routes.

"Starting Monday, May 5, you will now be able to find a Super Metro Matatu at Kencom CBD serving and plying the Community, Upperhill, KNH, Ngong Road, Wanyee, Satellite to Kabiria Route from as Early as 6 am," read Super Metro customer notice in part.

The company welcomed customers for the new terminus in Nairobi CBD and the routes.

Super Metrol has been operating at numerous stations and terminals across Nairobi.

The matatu plys various routes including Kikuyu-Nairobi, Nairobi-Juja, Nairobi-Thika/Makongeni, and Ngong-Nairobi.

Other routes are Juja, Roysambu, Westlands, Mfangano, and the Bus Station.

The announcement of the new route sparked mixed reactions among Kenyans, with some congratulating the matatu while others scolding it for the incident that led to its suspension in March.
