Sunita Ahuja defends star kids ahead of son Yashvardhan's debut

Apr 07, 2025 11:33 AM IST - Sunita Ahuja, wife of Bollywood actor Govinda, has revealed that she is fervently praying for their son, Yashvardhan Ahuja's, success as he prepares to enter the Bollywood film industry. In a recent interview with Times Now, Sunita Ahuja discussed the unique challenges and intense scrutiny faced by star kids and expressed her hopes for her son's prosperous journey.
“It’s not easy carrying that legacy. People have expectations,” Sunita Ahuja stated, acknowledging the pressures that come with being the child of a successful actor. She emphasized Yashvardhan's dedication to forging his own path, adding, “But Yash is carving his own path and taking it one step at a time.”
Sunita Ahuja further elaborated on her prayers for her son: “I have been praying to Mata Rani that Yash shall receive a lot of yash (fame), and that he will make a mark for himself in the world. I’ve asked Mata Rani to always protect him, to keep him safe from negativity and the evil eye. He should be blessed with a lot of name, fame, and wealth. But above all, may he always be grounded and loved.”
Yashvardhan Ahuja's recent dance video, where he was seen grooving alongside Raveena Tandon’s daughter, Rasha Thadani, to the iconic title track of the 2002 film 'Akhiyon Se Goli Maare,' has already garnered significant attention and positive reactions online. Prior to his debut, Yashvardhan gained valuable experience assisting on notable films such as 'Dishoom,' 'Baaghi,' and the upcoming 'Kick 2' starring Salman Khan.
Reports indicate that Yashvardhan Ahuja underwent nine years of auditions before securing his first role in a romantic drama. The film will be directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sai Rajesh, known for his work in Telugu cinema with films like 'Colour Photo,' 'Hrudaya Kaleyam,' and 'Baby.' The project is being backed by prominent producers Madhu Mantena, Allu Aravind, and SKN Films. Furthermore, the film is rumored to feature Irrfan Khan’s son, Babil Khan, in a pivotal role. The currently untitled film is anticipated to be released in theaters later this year.
