In celebration of World Oceans Day 2025, Sun Siyam Resorts welcomed renowned freediver, instructor, and underwater model Psyche Cheng—popularly known as Mermaid Psyche—for a special guest engagement across Siyam World and Sun Siyam Olhuveli. This initiative underscored the resort’s commitment to ocean conservation and sustainability.

The 2025 World Oceans Day theme, “Wonder: Sustaining What Sustains Us,” emphasized the ocean’s vital role in sustaining life on Earth. Mermaid Psyche’s presence highlighted the magnificence and fragility of marine ecosystems, aligning with the global call to protect our oceans.

During her visit, Psyche delivered inspirational talks at both resorts, sharing her personal journey and deep connection to the sea. Her sessions combined science, mindfulness, and storytelling, engaging audiences on the importance of preserving marine ecosystems. Following the talks, she joined the Sun Diving teams to explore the underwater realms of the Maldives, reaffirming her commitment to marine awareness and conservation.
