The moment the FGC has been waiting for has arrived! Street Fighter 6 continues its impressive run, and the recent Summer Games Fest delivered an exciting reveal for its Year 3 characters. After a fantastic Season 1 that brought us Rashid, Akuma, Ed, and A.K.I., and what many are calling the “crossover year” in Year 2 with the iconic additions of Fatal Fury’s Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui, alongside M. Bison and Elena, fans have been looking forward to seeing who will join the fight next. Before we proceed to the trailer, Capcom just released the Costume 3 of all Season 2 characters.

The new trailer, starring none other the wrestling superstar Kenny Omega, did not disappoint!

The reveal trailer kicks off in what appears to be the locker room of a wrestling company, likely AEW, given Omega’s affiliation. We see Kenny Omega, shirtless and in his ring gear, resting post-match, probably contemplating his next combo. He opens his locker, and in the mirror, a surprising reflection greets him: he’s cosplaying , that “protagonist of Street Fighter 3” everyone remembers. Omega flawlessly executes some of Alex’s iconic moves while wearing a spot-on rendition of his original costume, probably feeling that sweet, sweet hit confirm.
Just as quickly, he panics and realizes he’s back in his wrestling attire. He touches the sink in front of the mirror, and in a truly unexpected (and perhaps “eye bleach warning” worthy, as you put it!) transformation, Kenny Omega suddenly appears in drag, dressed as the sophisticated CIA agent and single mom, . His j.MK game must be impeccable now.
The comedic transformations continue as Omega panics again, finding himself cosplaying in her “Magical Girl” glory, complete with graceful, ballerina-like moves. He attempts one of Ingrid’s signature kicks, leading to an awkward fall on the floor. “Is this really my life?” he probably wondered, clearly disoriented by these bizarre hallucinations. He retreats to his locker and closes it, perhaps hoping for a quick patch.
The trailer’s grand finale sees Omega undergo one last, dramatic transformation: he suddenly becomes the formidable Muay Thai emperor, , complete with his iconic laugh. Let’s hope his hitboxes are more reasonable this time!
The end of the trailer clarifies that all of the costumes cosplayed by Kenny Omega in the trailer will be the nostalgic, classic looks for the characters – a win for the old-school players! Following this, we are shown anime-style pictures of what will be their new default costumes. The trailer then provides a few seconds of exciting gameplay footage featuring Sagat, confirming that he will be the first character released in Year 3.
