Despite robust domestic macroeconomic data and firm trend in the global peers, equity market benchmarks Sensex and Nifty closed in red on Thursday (March 13). CPI-based retail inflation slipped to a seven-month low of 3.61 per cent in February.

Sensex lost 200.85 points or 0.27 per cent to close at 73828.91. On the other hand, Nifty went down by 73.30 points or 0.33 per cent to close at 22397.20.
