Sister Wives star thinks it’s “unfair” for ex to compare wife to his exes, including Meri, and .

The TLC personality, 54, reacted to host Sukanya Krishnan telling her that Kody, 56, had “wanted to raise every wife up” to the same “divine love” that he experienced with Robyn, 46, in a sneak peek of the Sunday, May 25, one-on-one special shared by E! News on Friday, May 23.

“I don’t think that’s fair for him to even say,” Meri responded. “Because we’re all supposed to be Robyn? I’m sorry, I am Meri. I’m not going to be Robyn. I don’t want to be Robyn. I’m gonna be my own individual person. I don’t want to be her.”

Meri added that if Kody and Robyn are “great together, that’s awesome.” However, she thought it was an “unfair statement” for her ex to make.

When Sukanya, 53, asked if their love could have been “equal but different,” she said, “Only if he accepts Meri, and he didn’t accept Meri. He didn’t for the past 12 or 14 years, or maybe even more.”

Meri was Kody’s first wife, having tied the knot with the Brown Family Entertainment founder in April 1990. In 1993, Kody entered a spiritual marriage with Janelle, 56, followed by another spiritual marriage with Christine, 53, in 1994. Robyn and Kody were spiritually married in 2010, but he later legally divorced Meri in December 2014 so that he could legally marry Robyn.

Meri confirmed her split from Kody in December 2022.

“It just doesn’t make sense to me that he would be so frustrated with Christine [Brown] and be like, ‘She just made this decision,’” she said in a Sister Wives tell-all at the time. “We didn’t consult, we didn’t talk, she just made the decision, and then he says, ‘No, I don’t consider myself married to Meri.’ Like, he just made the decision. I’ve never heard him say that to me.”

Janelle, who split from Kody in December 2022, also reacted to him comparing his exes to Robyn in the sneak peek at the upcoming episode.

“Would’ve been nice if he communicated that,” the Taeda Farms cofounder said of Kody wanting to love his other wives like he loved Robyn. “Maybe that’s revisionist history now, too. He’s trying to be like, ‘Well I tried, I wanted to, but they just didn’t want to come along.’”

Janelle concluded, “He never talked about that with me.”

Meanwhile, Kody defended his “higher love” for Robyn in a sneak peek shared by People on Thursday, May 22.

“You find higher love, and then everybody just slaps you down for it?” he said. “I’ll tell you what. There’s a divine aspect about my relationship with Robyn, and we have been bitch slapped for it.”

Kody continued, “I love this woman and I want peace in this relationship, but I’m to the point where I’m walking around flipping two birds because I am so sick and tired of being guilted for loving Robyn.”
