Sigourney Weaver’s $79 million mystery thriller movie is a streaming hit 30 years after release, landing on Netflix’s global chart. The Avatar star’s filmography includes examples of nearly every genre. That’s to be expected given that Weaver received her first on-screen credit way back in 1977, and has worked consistently ever since.

Sci-fi is arguably her signature genre, after playing Ripley in multiple Alien movies, along with being in Avatar, but Weaver . Eyewitness and Half Moon Street were two of her first, and 1994’s Death and the Maiden was one of her best.

The thriller stars Weaver as an agoraphobic psychologist who comes out of hiding to help a police detective (Holly Hunter) track down a vicious murderer.

Copycat grossed $79 million on a budget of $27 million, and sits at 76% on Rotten Tomatoes.
