Sewing Bee's Annie transforms scraps of fabric into a stylish cushion

Published 9 hours ago2 minute read

Former Sewing Bee winner Annie Phillips has been impressing us with her crafts and fashion makes for a while now so of course, her latest homemade interiors garment was another brilliant project.

Proving that all those pieces of leftover fabric can be put to use, Annie used up all her old bits and pieces of material to make a statement cushion ideal for scattering on sofas and beds.

Sharing her technique and finished project on Instagram, she filmed the entire process for a video which showed her cutting and stitching the materials together to make the design.

She then revealed how to add the zip fastening leaving her with a statement cushion for her home.

Annie wrote: "Who keeps their scraps?? I fear I may be a hoarder. I can’t throw anything away (especially not velvet!). I love saving my scraps and turning them into something joyful.

"This time some leftover pieces became the most fun cushion. Even the tiniest bits can find a second life #MendingMondays ScrapSaver #UpcycledHome."

The cushion, of course, received some high praise from her social media followers too as @samiorenelda commented: "Oh I love it!"

Another fan, @Jane.dwyer.100 added: "Love all the coordination of colour in your cushion!" Others called the finished project "cute" and "pretty".

If you're impressed with this make from Annie, why not check out some of her other recent projects like her upcycled t-shirt? Or maybe take a look at how she transformed an old jumper into something fun?
