What better way to write a love letter to Hollywood than to create a scathing comedy series that highlights and laughs at everything that's currently wrong with the film industry. That's exactly what Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have done with , the new comedy series which just premiered on Apple TV+. With two episodes already available to stream, a flood of reviews have hit the internet, and the show's Rotten Tomatoes score has just been revealed. So, is The Studio a tentpole hit, or an underwhelming studio flop?
After a tidal wave of reviews, The Studio is an Oscar-caliber hit (or Emmys-caliber as it's a series), with the new show currently holding a near-perfect 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Not only has the show united most critics, it has also done so while scoring numerous 4/5 and 5/5 reviews. Peter Gray of The AU Review is one such critic who scored it a perfect 5/5. They wrote:
"Such is the genius of Rogen and Goldberg’s handling (the duo co-directing each of the 10 episodes) that even the most casual or unversed viewer will feel entirely enveloped by the goings on."

Seth Rogen plays a struggling studio executive in the new Apple TV+ comedy, 'The Studio.' Here's how to watch the highly-rated series.
heaped similar praise on The Studio, rating it 4/5. "Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have written metafiction before with This Is the End, but their new TV series The Studio takes the cake — then shoves Hollywood's face in it," he wrote. Alan Sepinwall of Rolling Stone agreed that The Studio both perfectly captures the intricacy and absurdity of Hollywood, writing:
"When it hits, it’s a hilarious reminder of what can happen in that ridiculous town when enough talented people are all working in unison at the top of their game."

The Studio has been released at an incredibly turbulent time for the film industry. The battle between Hollywood studios and indie directors rages on, as audiences complain about the endless stream of underwhelming studio movies being released, but still pay to watch them in theaters, in turn leading to more underwhelming studio movies. The Studio captures that turbulence through the eyes of Matt Remick (Rogen), the newly appointed head of a film studio, as he attempts to ride the turbulent wave.
When you make a film or series about Hollywood, you have to pack it with some recognizable faces. The Studio has achieved that and then some. Along with Rogen, Chase Sui Wonders, Ike Barinholtz, and Kathryn Hahn in the main cast, the series features an astounding guest cast, with Aaron Sorkin, Antony Starr, Charlize Theron, Greta Lee, Ice Cube, Josh Hutcherson, Kit Hoover, Olivia Wilde, Paul Dano, Ramy Youssef, Ron Howard, Steve Buscemi, Zac Efron, Zack Snyder, and none other than Martin Scorsese himself all appearing in the series.
The first two episodes of The Studio are now streaming on Apple TV+. New episodes will be released weekly. The official synopsis reads:
"Matt Remick is the newly appointed head of Continental Studios; desperate for celebrity approval, he and his executive team at the movie studio must juggle corporate demands with creative ambitions as they try to keep movies alive and relevant."
