The Senate on Wednesday passed the N1.48 trillion appropriation bill for Rivers State.
This followed the consideration and adoption of the report of Senate ad hoc Committee on Rivers Emergency Rule chaired by Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele (APC, Ekiti Central) during plenary.
Senator Bamidele presented the report outlining a budget framework targeting urgent needs in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and security under the emergency administration.
The budget breakdown shows that N120.8 billion is earmarked for debt servicing, N287.38 billion for recurrent (non-debt) expenditure, while N1.077 trillion will be invested in capital projects.
