The chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council in the FCT, Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has emerged victorious in the APC primaries for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) chairmanship election.
Abuja Metro reports that the FCT councils’ election will hold on February 26, 2026.
The incumbent AMAC chairman won the election with 51 votes.
The party’s electoral committee’s chairman, Dr. Habib Ibrahim, who announced the result, urged all other aspirants to accept the outcome and support the winner in good faith.
Maikalangu thanked the party’s delegates for their support and called on other aspirants to join hands with him in the interest of the party.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Zephaniah Jisalo, who is the leader of the party in FCT, congratulated Maikalangu on the victory at the primaries.
