Scotland vs Italy in Curling Championship Final

Scotland is set to compete against Italy in the final of the World Mixed Doubles Championship on Saturday at 18:00 BST. Jen Dodds, an Olympic champion from 2022, and Bruce Mouat, a silver medalist also from 2022 and the 2025 World Men's Championship-winning skip, secured their place in the final by defeating Australia 9-6 in the semi-finals. This victory followed their second-place finish in the round robin stage and a 7-5 win against the United States in the qualification game, held in New Brunswick, Canada.
Italy's team, Stefania Constantini and Anton Mosaner, led the standings and advanced directly to the semi-finals, where they triumphed over Estonia with a score of 7-5. Mouat expressed his confidence and enjoyment, stating, "We've got a lot of confidence at the minute and we're just enjoying being out there. I'm really pleased with how we performed today when we had two really tough games and we're now looking forward to the last one."
Dodds and Mouat previously won the tournament in 2021 on their home ice. In the subsequent year, fellow Scots Eve Muirhead and Bobby Lammie claimed the title in Geneva, Switzerland. This marks Italy's first appearance in the final.
Mouat added, "Jen and I have had a really good mixed doubles season and we've worked very hard to just try to get back to this point, so I'm proud of having such a good effort to get to this point. The Italians look like they're playing incredibly well, so we're going to have to come out and play like we have for the last three days and put them under some pressure to hopefully get some misses and take advantage."
