The intensity continued to heat up on the court in Week 3, and the final round of group play, of the 2025 Hoopsfix Pro-Am Summer League at Brixton Recreation Centre.

Another full slate of hoops thrilled the Brixton Rec crowd, as the tournament heads into next week’s semi-final and classification stage.

The first game of the day saw Team Sapphire improve to 2-1 in this year’s Summer League with a 58-51 win over Team Diamond.

Modiegi Mokoka stood out with a 16 point display for Team Sapphire, who led by as much as 14 early in the second half, while WNBL D1 MVP Lindsey Cleary and Sarah Round also dished out notable performances scoring 14 and 13 points respectively.

Last year’s Pro-Am MVP Chinwe Iwunze recorded 15 points and was the highest scorer for Team Diamond – who mounted a spirited comeback to cut the deficit to three late in the third quarter.

Dominique Davis Mpesa wasn’t far behind with 13 points of her own, but Team Sapphire managed the fourth quarter well to see out the game and come away with a seven point victory.

In the second women’s encounter, Team Ruby held on 44-42 in a gritty, defensive battle against Team Emerald to remain undefeated, as a half court heave attempt from Dutch international Kourtney Treffers at the buzzer went wide.

Former Purdue Boilermaker Jenelle Grant showed off her all-around game to finish with a 14 point, 10 rebound double-double for Team Ruby. Maisie Crowley almost put up a double-double herself as she wound up with an eight point and eight board haul.

Yassin Belle-Mbaye also chipped in with nine points while Chantel Charles left her impact on both ends of the floor after she notched up six assists along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.

Treffers proved to be Team Emerald’s primary source for scoring on her way to posting 11 points and eight boards in her Pro-Am debut.

The first men’s contest was a matchup mostly controlled by CMBC as they grounded Team Jet to triumph 63-54.

A 15 point outing from James Claar was one of the main catalysts for CMBC’s win, and he was helped along by a 12 point push from the Reading Rockets’ Victor Olarerin.

Damarni Velinor bagged 18 points as he topped the scoring charts for Team Jet and the game as a whole, whilst Joshua Apple also contributed with 11 points.

SBB created separation in the fourth quarter to maintain their unblemished record and clinch the top seed in their pool, as they produced an impressive 63-48 win against Basketball Nxtion in the day’s fourth matchup.

Central Methodist University’s Brandon Tchouya scored a game high 17 points for SBB whilst Flynn Boardman-Raffet backed up his 23 point performance from last week with another solid display, this time racking up 12 points.

Despite Basketball Nxtion only shooting 33% from the field as a team, Abdul Wurie was one of his side’s best as he amassed a 16 point, 11 rebound double-double. His teammate Shaquille Lewis also had a notable showing with 12 points tallied to his name.

In the afternoon’s second to last game, the energy and intensity of Hoopspace, especially in the second half, proved to be too much for Hometown Heroes as Hoopspace comfortably ran away as 20 point victors, 67-47, in a match where Team GB Captain Carl Wheatle made his first appearance in this year’s Pro-Am.

Isaac Temilola had numerous highlight plays throughout the four quarters, including slamming home an alley-oop from Wheatle, as he compiled 21 points and was a handful to stop in the paint. Towson University graduate Tomiwa Sulaiman also impressed with a 14 point, 11 rebound double-double as Hoopspace booked their semifinal spot.

Hometown Hoeroes struggled offensively in this game and could only muster up a collective 30% shooting percentage from the field. Troy McIndoe and Derby’s Jai Pathmarajah were the joint scoring leaders for their outfit as they managed ten points apiece, with McIndoe also grabbing 12 boards.

TMB (The Minimum Brand) had a dominant 58-25 rebounding advantage as they advanced to the semi-finals with a fairly commanding 57-45 victory over defending Summer League champions FunctionAll in the weekend’s final clash.

A fantastic 21-point, 10-rebound double-double from big man Kavell Bigby-Williams, who suited up for Jilin Northeast Tigers in the CBA last season, was instrumental to TMB outplaying their opponents.

Hemel Storm’s Sam Newman also played his part in the 12 point win by reaching double figures in scoring with 11 points.

Callum Lawson dropped 18 points to lead the way for FunctionAll, with this result ensuring that the Hoopsfix Pro-Am will crown a new champion this year to be determined by the next two weeks of play.
