A tornado watch is currently in place, which means meteorologists are closely monitoring the atmosphere for the development of rotating storms. It is not yet confirmed that a tornado will form, but residents should remain on alert. A warning, on the other hand, means a tornado has been sighted or indicated by radar and residents must take shelter immediately.

With rainfall coming in fast bursts, forecasters warn of possible street flooding especially in low-lying areas. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and power lines, increasing the chance of outages across San Antonio and surrounding counties. The overnight storm threat is expected to taper off after 2 a.m., giving way to a drier Tuesday morning. However, a weak frontal boundary and multiple outflow boundaries will continue to generate instability in the atmosphere throughout the week. Daily rain chances sit at 30 to 40 per cent through Thursday, though forecasters caution that not every neighborhood will see rain each day.By the weekend, the weather is forecast to turn drier and cooler, providing temporary relief from this week’s stormy conditions.
