Russell Martin ruled out of English Championship job running as ex Scotland defender seeks next managerial challenge - Football Scotland
Russell Martin's search for his next challenge in management goes on after he was put out of the running for the Norwich City position.
The former Southampton gaffer and Canaries captain was considered for the role after interim manager Jack Wilshere was not kept on on a permanent basis.
Martin has been linked with various jobs, such as the Rangers gig, and recently revealed he had been approached by several clubs.
However, he will not be rocking up at Carrow Road and is not making his next move lightly.
Speaking on Match of the Day 2, Martin said: "Yeah, I'm feeling it's been a good time to reflect, a good break after 20 years or so of playing and straight into management.
"It's been a nice time to enjoy.
"I think wherever I go in next and whenever I go in next, I'll be much better for it."
Martin, who was sacked by Southampton earlier this year, revealed he's turned down several job offers since his departure from the Saint Mary’s Stadium.
He said: "Yeah I think so.
"It's really important.
"We've turned a few opportunities down because it just didn't feel quite right and it's about the opportunity it gives us, how we feel about it, the people you're working for, all of it comes into account.
"Also, the cultural context, the style of play, how the style of play, the work that we do will fit the club."
Martin remains determined to make his next managerial job the right fit, considering all factors including club culture and his style of play.
