were beaten 1-0 at home to Man City with Erling Haaland's first-half goal proving to be the winning moment in the match.

The defeat means the North London club have dropped back into 13th place with Crystal Palace leapfrogging them.

The Lilywhites showed a great deal of fight in the second 45 minutes, however, they were so poor in the first-half and Postecoglou was not happy, according to Bergvall.

Lucas Bergvall has revealed that Ange Postecoglou was not happy with how Tottenham played in the first half and the first 45 minutes lost them the game.

Postecoglou warned the players during the break that they had not been good enough and the message worked to a certain degree as his team were far more dangerous in the second half.

Bergvall told SpursOfficial: “I think the first half (was poor), the gaffer also talked about how the first half was not good enough and they won the game (because of this).

“In the second half, we were much better I think. It was the first half that ruined it for us today – so it’s disappointing.”

Tottenham were considerably better in the second half against the champions as they managed more possession, created more chances and had more shots at goal.

Postecoglou’s side failed to create a single big chance in the first period of the game, although in the second chances fell the way of Wilson Odobert, Son Heung-min and Pape Matar Sarr.

Postecoglou made several key changes in the second 45 which helped swing the game in their favour, however, there are question marks as to why Son, Dejan Kulusevski and Djed Spence were benched in the first place.
