Rob Warne Reveals Why He Gave Sophie a Heads Up Before '90 Day: Hunt for Love' Appearance
Rob Warne and Sophie Sierra may no longer be together, but he exclusively explained to In Touch why he wanted to give his ex a heads up before he starred on season 1 of 90 Day: Hunt for Love.
“When I first heard about the experience and I was first offered the opportunity to go, I mean, I told her pretty much immediately just because I felt like if she could think I was trying to do something wrong or if she could think … that I was deliberately not telling her or anything like that,” Rob, 33, exclusively told In Touch at Us Weekly’s celebration for 90 Day: Hunt for Love in New York City on Monday, May 19. “Then it would potentially be worse for me when it eventually comes out or that she figures that out.”
Rob said that the “first thing” he did when he was cast on the show was tell her, “Hey, you’re doing your thing. I’m doing my thing. And just so you know, I’m gonna be honest, I’m gonna do a season where you’re gonna have to see me dating other people, but like, that’s what it is.”
“I didn’t want it to get any worse than it could,” Rob continued about why he told Sophie, 26, about the show, claiming that his ex has “a tendency” to “be very vengeful sometimes.”
Rob went on to say that she could “get upset about something and then decide to feel some type of way about it,” so he wanted to get ahead of any potential drama by telling her.
“I gave her as much of a heads up as I could and as much time as I could for her to, like, get used to the idea of having to see me on TV dating someone else,” he explained.
After noting that the new 90 Day Fiancé spinoff hasn’t premiered yet, Rob pointed out that there is still plenty of time for Sophie to react. “Hopefully she doesn’t, like, come for me online every episode after every episode,” he added.
Rob and Sophie first met after she followed “Instagram pages for cute mixed-race guys.” They FaceTimed shortly after they connected and ended up chatting for eight hours.
The couple experienced many ups and downs in their relationship – including cheating claims – before their wedding eventually aired during the February 25, 2024, episode of the series. However, the drama didn’t stop there and they continued to document their relationship issues on season 8 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?
Rob and Sophie attempted to save their marriage while appearing on season 2 of 90 Day: The Last Resort, though eventually split when he expressed concerns about their relationship during the recommitment ceremony on the March 25 episode.
Sophie read a letter to her younger self during the ceremony, which began, “Dear younger Sophie, remember to stand up for yourself if people are mean to you, and remember you’re perfect the way you are. Don’t ever lose your light and always be yourself. Remember you are so strong, and you are beautiful. I never tried to change for others.”

“Fast forward to grown-up Sophie. You are now more confident; you finally have friends and even end up getting married and grown,” the U.K. native continued. “Sophie has grown into a kind, loving person who deserves love and happiness. Even though who you marry is not your dream man, you [are] happy with him. For a few years.”
When Sophie asked Rob to read his vows, he refused and declared that the ceremony was over. “Well, I think that’s pretty much it then,” he said.
Fans can watch Rob pursue love on 90 Day: Hunt for Love when it premieres on TLC Monday, May 26, at 8 p.m. ET.
