A reckless truck driver nearly crashed into a house while evading police in Georgia on Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred on June 24th in Cobb County, Georgia at about 8:30 a.m.

According to 11 Alive, police were contacted by several concerned motorists reporting a reckless truck driver operating on the Dallas Highway. Officers headed to the area and attempted to pull over the semi truck, but the truck driver would not stop, and instead headed north and pulled onto the Ernest Barrett Parkway.

At one point, the truck driver attempted a left turn but lost control. The semi truck then crashed onto an embankment and through a fence, coming to a stop just before striking a house.

“I did hear a lot of traffic and a loud boom. I just thought it was your typical morning traffic on Barrett Parkway,” said Jim Boyland, the homeowner. He says he didn’t realize the truck was on his property until the police showed up at his house.

“Just the tractor portion, sitting in my backyard inches away from my home and our AC unit and a lot of police vehicles,” he said to WSB TV.

The truck driver was taken to a hospital to be evaluated, but no other injuries were reported. The driver will be charged with reckless driving.
