DentScribe, developed by Dr. Vinni K. Singh, is an AI-powered dental documentation and patient communication system designed to streamline the workflows of dental professionals. The system automates clinical note-taking and enhances patient engagement by processing dentist-patient interactions and relevant data, such as appointment details and patient medical histories. This data is then used to generate comprehensive SOAP notes, visit summaries, and post-care guidelines, which are directly integrated into practice management software like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and OpenDental.

According to Dr. Singh, DentScribe was created to alleviate the burden of after-hours paperwork, allowing dentists to focus more on patient care. The system includes a user-friendly mobile app available on both Google Play and the Apple iOS store, along with a "white glove" onboarding experience that provides pre-loaded tablets and customizable templates. Dr. Molly Marshall Hays of Marshall Family Dentistry praised the system for its ability to generate complete and accurate notes, which has significantly improved her daily practice.

DentScribe operates on a subscription model with a flat monthly fee covering all providers and operatories within a practice, making it an accessible and budget-friendly solution for dental offices.

Snapchat has introduced a new lens format called ‘AI Video Lenses,’ which combines augmented reality and generative AI. This feature, currently available for Platinum subscribers, includes lenses like the fox lens, raccoon lens, and flower lens, which seamlessly blend into snaps. Snap plans to release new AI lenses weekly, utilizing its in-house built generative video model to bring cutting-edge AI tools to its users through a familiar lens format. Users can capture a snap using the selected lens, and the AI-generated video is automatically saved to Memories, allowing for easy sharing with friends or on stories.

Google is rolling out several enhancements to its Gemini AI app, focusing on making it more intuitive, powerful, and personalized. These updates include an upgraded research assistant, deeper personalization, and expanded connectivity with Google apps. A key improvement is the enhanced 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental model, which introduces file uploads and an expanded 1-million-token context window for Gemini Advanced users, enabling more complex information analysis.

These personalized AI tools are now available for free, allowing users to tailor AI to their specific needs by providing instructions and uploading reference files.

Google's new lightweight AI model, Gemma 3, is making waves due to its architecture and performance. The Gemma 3 family, which includes models with 1B, 4B, 12B, and 27B parameters, is the successor to the Gemma 2 series. These models support over 35 languages and can be adjusted to support 140 languages, operating on either a single GPU or Google’s Tensor processing unit (TPU).

According to Google, Gemma 3 performs better on the LMArena leaderboard than OpenAI’s o3-mini AI models, Meta’s Llama-405B, and DeepSeek-V3. The models can analyze text, photos, and short videos, featuring sophisticated language and visual reasoning capabilities. They provide a 128,000 token context window and support function calling, enabling developers to incorporate agentic features into their software and apps.

Google has emphasized the thorough risk evaluation used in developing the AI models, with benchmark assessments and fine-tuning to enforce internal safety policies. The company also introduced ShieldGemma 2, a 4B parameter image safety checker, to ensure AI models do not produce violent, risky, or sexually explicit content. Developers can further modify ShieldGemma to improve safety parameters. The Gemma 3 family of AI models is available for download on Kaggle or through Google’s Hugging Face listing.
