Reacher Season 3 takes the titular hero to Maine, which initially seems like a coincidence when he stumbles on his newest mission. The former military operative appears to be lucking into an arc of fate when he rescues a young man named Richard Beck from being snatched. It leads to Alan Ritchson's Reacher bonding with him and becoming part of his father Zachary's criminal empire.

This all turns out to be by design. Reacher is a spy who infiltrates this criminal organization in a way that fans of the Fast & Furious movies and The Departed would love. However, as his quest unfolds in the three-episode premiere, it turns out to be part of his most dangerous revenge scheme that is sure to compromise him personally.

In Reacher Season 3, the hero is recruited by a DEA team led by Agent Duffy. . It's a two-pronged approach. Duffy's team previously messed up surveillance on Zachary's rug business, Bizarre Bazaar, which is a front. Zachary is actually working with a drug cartel, bribing customs agents, and smuggling drugs into America.

Duffy wants Reacher to find out who else is in the ring. , and is going deeper into the belly of the beast. But there is a second aspect of the deal. Duffy wants Reacher to help find a criminal informant she had in Zachary's business named Teresa. Duffy thinks the criminals sniffed out her subterfuge and have either killed her, or are holding her prisoner. Reacher sneaks around for clues, not just around Zachary's mansion, but at his other places of business.

. Zachary is grateful he saved his boy, but deep down, he sees an opportunity for a new enforcer. Reacher uses this plan to track the woman, although he is cognizant she might be dead. This leaves viewers curious over Teresa's fate, and what Julius has in store. It has been confirmed that he strong-armed Zachary to work for him, so audiences are eager to see more of Julius and his cronies.

Reacher has sought vengeance in the past. He hunted people who killed his brother, as well as villains who murdered former army colleagues. This Teresa issue feels like destiny, but it is connected to yet another revenge story. . So far, he has only glimpsed the man in town, and seen footage of the sinister alliance.

Fans of Lee Child's Persuader novel know where this goes. . Hearing about Teresa reminds Reacher of what Quinn did, and wants to kill two birds with one stone. He hopes to rescue Teresa, as he blames himself for losing Dominique. . Both of these sub-arcs make Reacher more emotional, hot-headed and prone to error.

Reacher slips up a few times, as he kills some thugs covering up his lies, including Angel Doll. . Reacher himself is leaving a trail, from sneaking around the mansion to hide weapons to going to different spots. There are also cameras around. Zachary is already cynical if there are moles in his team with men going missing. With an expert tyrant like Quinn lurking, Reacher cannot afford to be this sloppy and leave breadcrumbs around.

Throwing in variables like Duffy's team around Maine holding Richard's driver prisoner, there are liabilities at play. Reacher and Duffy even seem to be crushing on each other, as they're vulnerable to knowing what each other lost. . With Reacher killing the right-hand man, Duke, and framing it as rivals, he is creating more angles for the villains to expose and learn of his treachery. Ultimately, he is treading dangerous water, which could expose him soon enough for skeptical enemies like Reacher's Paulie, and whoever else the likes of Julius and Quinn have on hand.
