QUICK WEATHER FORECAST:

FORECAST DISCUSSION:

As a cold front continues to move into Central Ohio, rain showers will continue for at least the first half of Saturday. Highs will be near 40 degrees.

Later this afternoon some of the rain showers will have a tiny bit of snow mixed in as temperatures cool to below the freezing point. After the rain ends skies will stay mostly cloudy. Overnight lows are expected to drop into the upper teens with wind chill lows in the low teens.

Sunday will bring a small chance for snow showers. The best chance for snow will be in the southeaster part of the state. New snow totals would be less than an inch. By Sunday nigh temps will begin to plummet across the area as an arctic plunge settles over the area.

By Monday morning folks will wake up to lows in the single digits with a wind chill in the negative teens. An Extreme Cold Watch goes into effect starting at 1 am Monday morning because of the low wind chills. High on Monday will stay in the single digits.

Wind chills are expected to stay below zero degrees across Central Ohio through Wednesday morning. Air temperatures in the city Monday night and Tuesday night will also fall below zero.

During this frigid stretch other weather conditions will stay relatively calm. The area is going to see mostly clear skies and lighter winds from late Monday through Wednesday.
