A Kumasi-based pastor, Prophet John Kwabena Boadu, has accused his colleague, Prophet Kofi Asante from Pankrono in the Ashanti Region, popularly known as Odifo John, of snatching his girlfriend, Akosua Lucia, whom he was preparing to marry.

According to Prophet Boadu, both he and Prophet Asante are affiliated with a spiritual church, locally referred to as “Sumsum Sore”, and he had previously lived with Lucia in anticipation of marriage.

Speaking on Sompa Nkomo, a social programme on Sompa TV hosted by Ghanaian broadcaster Oheneni Adazoa on June 3, 2025, Prophet Boadu narrated how the woman he intended to marry was taken away from him by someone he trusted to mediate their relationship issues.

He revealed that he and Lucia were preparing to marry in February 2021 and had even acquired items for their wedding.

However, they encountered misunderstandings which led to a temporary separation.

“I was staying with the lady in 2021 and we bought everything in preparation for our marriage on February 16, 2021.”

“One day she returned from church and accused me of not calling her since morning, then abruptly said we should break up,” he said.

Prophet Boadu explained that, in an attempt to resolve their differences, he contacted the elder brother of Prophet Kofi Asante, who is also a pastor, for help.

During the process, Prophet Kofi took over the conversation under the pretense of helping to talk to Lucia on Boadu’s behalf but eventually ended up taking her as his own partner.

“One day I heard she had returned to my house to collect her belongings. I later found out she had gone to marry someone else. I called Kofi’s brother again to complain about my girlfriend and Kofi was present. He requested to speak to the lady and from there, things took a different turn. He took her from me and she never returned.”

“Madam, if not for God, I would have harmed this man (Kofi Asante). He knew I was dating the lady. When we had issues, I reached out to his brother because we all used to live around the same area.

“The lady blocked my number for two weeks because of our misunderstanding, so I called her junior sister. She told me that the lady claimed she and I were going to pray at Atwea Mountains but I said it wasn’t true.”

He further claimed that the lady was secretly staying at Kofi Asante’s brother’s house at the time but neither of them informed him, despite his persistent inquiries.

Prophet Boadu disclosed that at the time Kofi took Lucia, she was already one month pregnant with his child.

She eventually married Prophet Kofi, gave birth, and according to Boadu, even released an audio message claiming Kofi was better in bed than he was.

Now, Boadu claims he wants custody of his child, who has been raised by Kofi since 2022.

However, Prophet Kofi Asante deems this demand unfair, insisting he took full responsibility when Prophet Boadu abandoned the lady and the unborn child.

Prophet Kofi is reportedly demanding compensation for raising the child over the years.

According to Odifo John, in another interview, he stated that when he met the lady, she told him she didn’t have a husband despite being pregnant, and he agreed to marry her and take care of her.
