Published 1 week ago1 minute read

The announcement was made in a letter from the President to Parliament, which was read by the Speaker Bagbin during sitting on Friday, March 7, 2025.

The decision aligns with Section 64 of the Securities and Intelligence Act, 2020 (Act 1030).

I convey to the House that I have assigned ministerial responsibility for national security to the Minister of the Interior, Hon. Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak,” President Mahama stated.

With this dual role, Mubarak will oversee national security matters alongside his Interior Ministry duties, ensuring a more integrated and strategic approach to tackling Ghana’s security challenges.

The government anticipates that this decision will bolster national security efforts and foster greater efficiency in crisis management.
