Accra, June 22, GNA – President John Dramani Mahama has appointed 15 new ambassadors, high commissioners and consul-general to Ghana’s foreign mission stations across the globe.
Dr Callistus Mahama, the Executive Secretary to the President, in a letter addressed to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, said the nominations follows the President’s consultations with the Council of State.
The nominees are Mr Benjamin A. Quashie, High Commissioner-Designate to South Africa; Mr Kojo Bonsu, Ambassador-Designate to China; Madam Kulsoume Sinare Baffoe, Ambassador-Designate to the Kingdom of Spain; Mr Hammed Rashid Tunde Ali, Ambassador-Designate to the United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi) and Captain George Kofi Nfojoh, Ambassador-Designate to Togo.
Others are Madam Grace El Mahmoud Marabe, Consul-General-Designate to the United Arab Emirates (Dubai), Professor Ohene Adjei, Ambassador-Designate to Germany; Mr Abdul Nasiru-Deen, Ambassador-Designate to Turkey; Madam Theresah Adjei-Mensah, Ambassador-Designate to the Czech Republic and Prof Kwasi Obiri-Danso, Ambassador-Designate to India.
The rest are Dr Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh, Ambassador-Designate to Canada; Dr Margaret Miewien Chebere, Ambassador-Designate to Denmark; Mr Labik Joseph Yaani, Ambassador-Designate to Equatorial Guinea; Nii Amasah Namoale, Ambassador-Designate to Brazil, and Dr Felix Kumah Godwin Anebo, Ambassador-Designate to Senegal.
The letter directs the Minister of Foreign Affairs to take all necessary steps to facilitate the appointment processes for the nominees.
