American singer, song-writer and piano man, Billy Joel has canceled all his upcoming concerts across England and North America after being diagnosed with a rare brain disorder. According to reports, the artist is suffering from a fluid buildup in his brain that has impacted his vision, hearing and balance. In a statement from his team he said that this condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances leading to problems with vision, hearing and balance. As per instructions from his doctor, Joel is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during the recovery period.

Joel revealed on an Instagram post that he has been diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus. According to Cleveland Clinic, this is a rare brain disorder that can impact brain-related abilities. Brain-related abilities include concentrating, memory, thought process, movement and more. In relation to the cancellation of his tour, Joel also said in an accompanying statement to the media, "I'm sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding."

Joel also faced medical issues in March. He had announced in the month of March that he underwent surgery and had to do physical therapy for recovery. Reports state that it is not clear whether his symptoms and medical issues at the time was related to Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus or not.

Experts say that this condition can cause problems with walking, bladder control and thinking, with symptoms worsening if left untreated. It's relatively rare and can be hard to diagnose. It can be treated successfully with surgery to install a tube to drain excess fluid. Patients may need physical therapy in addition to surgery.
