Patrick Schwarzenegger and Aimee Lou Wood put their money where their mouth is — literally.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, The White Lotus stars, both 31, reminisced on some of their biggest purchases while promoting their partnership with Venmo. Despite being massively successful actors, the former costars revealed they rarely spend the big bucks on material items.
“[Aimee] just took Abby [Champion] and I out for a very nice dinner when we were out in London, and she bought it,” Schwarzenegger shares of a night he and his fiancée spent with Wood. “She did the old, ‘I'm going to the bathroom’ trick, and paid for the bill. She always offers to get meals, and that’s, I would say, something that I like to do as well.”

“I'm not a big item person, but I do love experiences, and I do love going out to great meals,” he continues. “I love going with people, so I always, that's where I splurge, is just, I like to pick up the bill and take people out to dinners or to activity experiences.”
Wood agrees, reflecting on the bill she raked up on fresh coconuts, which she previously told PEOPLE she became “addicted” to while filming The White Lotus in Thailand last year.
“It was chronic. I could not stop with the coconuts,” she laughs. “I just absolutely loved them. But Patrick's right, it's always food. Whenever I check what I've spent, it's always meals out with friends — or coconuts — and that's great because experiences are everything. That is what life is about."
She then jokes: "But also you don't actually have that much to show for it in the end, especially not the coconuts. I couldn't bring any of those home with me.”

Still, the Sex Education alum confesses that she does have her guilty pleasures. For example, she says she can never resist “silly, novelty household” knick knacks.
“It's always cute things,” she insists. “I spend so much money on cute things that are just quite pointless. Like, I won't buy a new laptop even if it's broken and not working, but I will go and spend loads of money on my tiny miniature toy mice that I think are sweet.”
In fact, that barely-functioning laptop was what she splurged on after receiving her first big paycheck years ago, along with an Apple Music subscription. While getting a new one is still on the backburner, Wood says she has considered upgrading her wardrobe recently.
“I'm actually trying to get better at that because I think I need to go and treat myself more,” she admits. “My agent said this to me the other day. She was like, ‘Why are you wearing these clothes?’ I came in and I looked so scruffy, and she was like, ‘Maybe you should just go and have a shopping spree?’ And it will probably feel really fun and good.”
The White Lotus is available to stream on Max.
