Oyedepo's Daughter Recounts Failed Assassination Attempt on Her Father

Love Ogah, daughter of Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, has shared a gripping account of a failed assassination attempt on her father. Speaking during a sermon shared on her Instagram page, Mrs. Ogah recounted an incident from her childhood when hired killers targeted her father's life.

According to Mrs. Ogah, the event occurred one night when she was in secondary school. The hired assassins arrived at their residence, explicitly stating their mission to execute Bishop Oyedepo. "They came to our house specifically, stating from the time they entered the gate, ‘We’re here to execute him.’ By ‘him’, they meant my father (Bishop David Oyedepo)," she narrated. The family home quickly transformed into a scene of chaos as the attackers demanded to know his whereabouts. "Our house was like a war zone. They were like, ‘Where is he?’"

In a remarkable twist, Mrs. Ogah revealed that Bishop Oyedepo was present during the entire ordeal, yet the assassins were unable to see him. "The most interesting thing I’ll never forget in my life, which has stuck with me since I was a child, was that he (Oyedepo) was looking at them the entire time, but they couldn’t see him," she explained. Despite thoroughly searching the house for hours, the attackers could not locate him.

Mrs. Ogah vividly described the intensity of the situation, recalling how the family hid behind a door at one point. In the chaos, she sustained a physical injury when the door was abruptly shut, causing her lip to tear. "There was a time we hid behind the door, and at a particular point, they shut the door. The door hit my lip—my entire top gum came off, and my gum was dangling. They came ready to execute."

After the hired killers had ransacked the house without success, Mrs. Ogah's aunt arrived, expressing her distress and concern. It was then that Bishop Oyedepo emerged from his room, leaving everyone astonished. "After they ransacked the whole house for hours, my aunt came into the house crying. She said, ‘Oh my God, I don’t know what would have happened. Oh my God, where is he?’ And my father came out of his room, and we all looked like it was a film trick. He said, ‘I was staring at them the entire time.’ They entered his room and ransacked everywhere—he was looking, but they couldn’t find him. All of us were looking like it was a film trick.”

Mrs. Ogah emphasized that this experience has had a lasting impact on her life. She urged Christians to remain steadfast in their faith and not to fear challenges, as trials often accompany those who are aligned with God's will. She highlighted that the Bible does not promise a life free of challenges but encourages believers to be strong enough to withstand the storms of life.

Love Ogah is known for her dedication to faith-based empowerment, particularly for women and families. Through various social media platforms, including Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook, as well as podcasts, she shares insights and teachings focused on the importance of family relationships, marriage, and raising children.
