Speaking during the weekend during a civic reception organised by the Oha Isiala Ngwa People from Isiala Ngwa north and south LGAs, Otti said his decision on a second term bid will be made public at the appropriate time.

The event was held in appreciation of his administration’s performance, particularly ongoing projects in the two local councils.

While thanking the crowd for their support, Otti said he remains focused on delivering on his mandate.

“Just like 2023 was in the hands of God, 2027 will also be in the hands of God,” he said.

“So, while I thank you for this endorsement, because I see it as an endorsement of what has been achieved so far, I also thank you for making predictions. I would only say that I would go back and consult with my God. And as time goes on, my response will be made public.”

Otti also explained his administration’s investment in infrastructure in Aba, the commercial centre of the state.

He said Aba plays a strategic role in generating internal revenue, which is critical to funding development in other parts of the state.

“Our concentration on Aba is because we do know that Aba has the capacity to generate revenue for us to develop other parts of the state,” Otti said.

“Aba occupies a prime place in our strategy, because that is our major commercial hub. Not just for Abia, but the south-east and south-south.”

The governor restated his commitment to balanced development across all zones, assuring residents that no area would be left behind.

Otti further announced that the Mgboko–Ntigha road project will be completed by December.

On the location of the Abia airport project in Nsulu, Otti said it was based on technical assessment, not politics.

He added that full compensation has been paid to all affected landowners.

Otti used the occasion to welcome new members into the Labour Party, including defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Accord Party, as well as members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers.

He also announced plans to upgrade the Sam Ihesiulor Stadium to a standard facility and directed the commissioners for works and youth and sports to begin the process.
