LeBron James recently surprised everyone when he opted into his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. Although that result was anticipated, many NBA agents found it unusual. On Sunday, June 29, ESPN's Shams Charania broke the news to the community during an appearance on SportsCenter.

This added to the rumors that the NBA idol might request a trade from his team.

LeBron James is a great basketball player and a key contributor to the Los Angeles Lakers. However, at 40 years old, it appears that no team wants to go in a trade relationship for him.An ESPN NBA insider recently shared the news with the world. The spokesperson said that the legend is thinking about his future. He also reportedly wants to fight for a championship next season.

However, he isn’t fully confident in the Los Angeles Lakers.Additionally, on June 30, Monday's episode of Get Up, league insider Bobby Marks opened up about the trade rumors. He explained that, at the moment, there is no trade market for LeBron James."I talked to numerous teams yesterday and asked them the same question, 'Would you give up four or five players to go get LeBron James for one year?' and the unanimous answer was, 'No they wouldn't’.”

The insider further referenced LeBron James' former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, to provide an example. They said that, if the team tried to trade him, they would probably have to give up about six players. Hence, they won’t take the deal.LeBron James, who is smart and experienced, still plays very well. However, even with all of his skills, teams are not interested in making a trade. There are a few big reasons for this.First of all, LeBron James is getting older. He has played in the NBA for over 20 years. Most teams want younger players who can play for many more seasons. Teams do not want to trade away their young talent for him.Additionally, LeBron’s contract is very big. Any team that trades for him would have to pay a lot of money. Most managers do not think this is a good move. Meanwhile, Bobby Marks added that things might change if LeBron James decided to buy out his contract. If he becomes a free agent, all 29 other teams would be interested and ready to sign the four-time NBA champion. Also read: LeBron James celebrates his electric boat team’s strong finish in Italy but the real test is still ahead.
