No going back to music, I'm into ministry now - Cynthia Morgan
Singer Cynthia Morgan has announced that she has permanently quit music to focus on ministry and real estate.
The Edo-born artiste announced in a video shared on social media on Friday, a day after she appeared teary-eyed in a separate video that sparked concern among fans.
Cynthia stated that the previous video was old, adding that she appreciates everyone who reached out to her.
She added that her current goal is not to get back into music.
“There is no going back to music. I’m now into ministry and real estate,” she said.
The 33-year-old gained fame in 2013 after signing with Jude Okoye’s Northside Entertainment. She released hit songs such as ‘Don’t Break My Heart’ and ‘Lead Me On’, which earned her a nomination at The Headies.
However, things took a downturn after her fallout with Okoye. She claimed in a 2020 interview that she lost her stage name, royalties, VEVO account and Instagram page due to the contract she signed with the label. The revelation led to a wave of public sympathy and support, with Davido among those who offered to help her revive her career.
Despite a brief attempt at a comeback, Cynthia later took a more spiritual path, often making headlines for sharing prophecies and spiritual messages. In 2023, she made a post on Facebook claiming that she had earlier prophesied the political rise of actress-turned-politician Funke Akindele and warned about singer Wizkid’s well-being.
The 32-year-old has now confirmed that she is fully embracing that path.
“I’ve moved on,” she said, stressing that she no longer intends to return to the music scene.
Aside from ministry, Cynthia said she is investing in real estate, though she did not give further details.
