Cynthia Morgan responds to Peter Okoye amid P-Square family feud

Published 3 weeks ago2 minute read

Singer Cynthia Morgan, also known as Madrina, has reacted strongly to Peter Okoye’s recent comments that mentioned her name amid the ongoing fallout in the P-Square family.

Peter, known as Mr. P, took to Instagram on Wednesday night to call out his twin brother Paul Okoye (Rudeboy) and their older brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, accusing them of betrayal, manipulation and theft.

“Exactly what I was talking about: their publicist doing everything for me to look like a liar,” Peter wrote.

“I am not MayD or Cynthia Morgan; I am PETER OKOYE, the one and only THE ROCK/OKWUTE of the Okoyes. The truth shall surely prevail. #UnaThiefAbiUnaNoThief #FamilyDoesNotStealFromFamily.”

The reference didn’t sit well with Cynthia Morgan, who famously fell out with Jude Okoye while signed to his Northside Entertainment label.

Taking to her Instagram Story, the ‘German Juice’ singer expressed disappointment that her name was brought into the matter.

“I have a mixed feeling about my name popping up like this,” she wrote.

“I am not a weak person. Certain family members made it look so… you ©peterpsquare included… until you found out what they were doing to you too. Na me listen to una sha.”

Her response suggested that Peter may have played a role—directly or indirectly—in how her career was mishandled and only distanced himself when he allegedly became a victim of the same treatment.

This back-and-forth comes amid serious legal drama involving the Okoye family.

Jude Okoye was recently arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on charges of laundering N1.38 billion, $1 million and £34,537.59.

Paul Okoye, reacting to Jude’s arrest had claimed Peter was behind the petition to the EFCC.

“Peter is the one doing this and putting him in prison; I’m here to bring him out,” Paul said in a viral video.

“I don’t deny that Peter is my brother, that has nothing to do with it. If they say Jude is guilty of these crimes, then Peter is guilty and Paul is guilty.”

Peter, however, denied the accusation, insisting he only petitioned the EFCC over a secret company allegedly run by Jude and his wife without his knowledge. He said the petition had nothing to do with Paul.

Cynthia Morgan rose to fame under Northside Entertainment with hits like ‘Don’t Break My Heart’ and ‘German Juice,’ but her career took a downturn after a messy exit from the label.

She later claimed she lost her stage name, VEVO account and royalties in the process.
