Nigerian Extradited From UAE For N470Million Dubai Luxury Car Scam Arraigned in Abuja | Sahara Reporters

The suspect was accused of defrauding the automobile dealer under the pretext of shipping luxury vehicles from Dubai to Nigeria.

A Nigerian national, Abubakar Mohammed Aboki, who was extradited from the United Arab Emirates for allegedly defrauding an international automobile dealer of $307,500 (about N470 million), has been arraigned and remanded by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on a six-count charge bordering on Criminal Breach of Trust, Obtaining by False Pretence, Forgery, and Money Laundering.

The Nigeria Police Force, in a statement released on Thursday, stated that the arraignment took place on July 1, 2025, as part of its commitment to transparency and accountability. 

On May 25, 2025, the Force confirmed the extradition of Aboki two days earlier 2025, following his alleged involvement in a high-profile transnational fraud case. 

The suspect was accused of defrauding the automobile dealer under the pretext of shipping luxury vehicles from Dubai to Nigeria.

Investigations revealed that Aboki allegedly diverted the funds for personal use and issued a forged Bill of Lading to deceive the complainant. 

The court has ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Nigeria Correctional Service facility in Keffi, Nasarawa State, pending the hearing of his bail application, scheduled for July 17, 2025.

The police statement said, “As part of its commitment to transparency and accountability, the Nigeria Police Force wishes to inform the general public that Abubakar Mohammed Aboki, a Nigerian national who was recently extradited from the United Arab Emirates, has been arraigned on Tuesday, 1st July 2025, before a Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, on a six-count charge bordering on Criminal Breach of Trust, Obtaining by False Pretence, Forgery, and Money Laundering.

“Following his arrest, investigations carried out revealed the suspect had diverted the funds for personal use and issued a forged Bill of Lading to deceive the complainant.

“Upon his arraignment, the Honourable Court ordered the defendant be remanded at the Nigeria Correctional Service facility in Keffi, Nasarawa State, pending the hearing of his bail application scheduled for 17th July 2025.”
