Nigerian Army begins admission process into nursing college
The Nigerian Army College of Nursing, located at Myhoung Barracks, Yaba, Lagos, has announced the start of admissions for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The college is offering National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), and Community Nursing programmes. Applications are open to military and paramilitary personnel as well as civilians.
According to the announcement, shared on the army’s X handle and signed by the institution’s acting registrar, Lt Col R.O Duoboye, admission forms will be available online from Monday, June 23, 2025, and will close on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Prospective candidates can obtain application forms via the college’s official website at http://www.nacon.edu.ng.
Eligibility requirements include having a minimum of five (5) credits in O-level examinations (WASSCE/GCE/NECO) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. These credits must be obtained within two sittings.
Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years old by October 2025 and must be Nigerian by birth. Additionally, candidates must have taken the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), scoring at least 160 marks for the ND/HND Nursing programmes and 130 marks for the Community Nursing programme.
Applicants are required to upload several documents during the online application process, including their O-level results, secondary school testimonial, birth certificate, certificate of origin, 2025 UTME result, and a passport photograph.
The ND/HND Nursing programme lasts four years, while the Community Nursing programme is a two-year course.
A screening examination will be conducted from August 18 to August 21, 2025, at the NACON Complex. Candidates are advised to attend on the specified dates and times for their screening.
The college has warned applicants against dealing with unauthorized admission agents and cautioned them to use only official channels to avoid fraud.
