Newly confirmed Wa West DCE pledges accountable, transparent leadership

Wechiau, (UW/R), April 18, GNA – Mr Richard Wulo, the newly confirmed District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Wa West District, has pledged to run an open-door leadership with integrity, transparency, and accountability as his guiding principles to promote inclusive development.
“I shall hold this baton firmly and in high esteem by providing exemplary leadership, which will be truly and sincerely anchored on the principles of accountability, transparency, integrity, humility, responsiveness, timeliness, teamwork, and above all respect for individuals,” he stated.
Mr Wulo made the pledge in Wechiau in his confirmation address to the Assembly Members and the people of the district including traditional leaders as well as the Upper West Regional Security Council (REGSEC) led by Mr Charles Lwanga Puozuing, the Upper West Regional Minister.
Mr Wulo, a three-term Assembly Member of the Siiru Electoral Area (2012-2024), received a 100% confirmation after all 40 Assembly Members present and voting endorsed him.
He expressed appreciation to the President of the Republic, Mr John Dramani Mahama, for giving him the opportunity to lead the district and to the Assembly Members for their overwhelming endorsement of his nomination.
Mr Wulo stressed the importance of strategic partnerships with chiefs, private sector, development partners and all relevant stakeholders in the district to facilitate the district’s development as well as enhance its Internally Generated Funds (IGF) to promote local economic development.
He reminded the people of President Mahama’s vision to “Reset Ghana” and called on all stakeholders to unite in peace with a common purpose to put the Wa West District on a Development pedestal and bring hope to the youth in the district.
The Wa West District Assembly also elected Mr Dassah Y. Ephraim, who was part of the top three aspirants for the DCE position, as the Presiding Member for the Assembly.
Mr Jonathan Avogo, the Wa Circuit Court Judge, swore in the Presiding Member before the start of the DCE nominee confirmation process.
