Netflix To Stream Alfred Hitchcock Collection - mxdwn Movies

, the company will showcase legendary filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock’s work at its Paris Theater in New York City in a six-week series. The films will also be available on Netflix in June.

Beginning on June 1, a collection of the classic Hitchcock films will be available to stream in the U.S. VertigoRear Window, Frenzy, The Man Who Knew Too Much, Family Plot and The Birds are among the films available. In the meantime, U.S. streamers can watch Hitchcock’s genre-defining Psycho on Netflix.

Netflix’s Hitchcock collection will also include films inspired by the famed director, including Jordan Peele’s Us, and Zach Cregger’s Barbarian. A narrative feature, Hitchcock, directed by Sacha Gervasi will be available as well.

Netflix’s Paris Theater will present HITCH! The Original Cinema Influencer, running from May 16 to June 29, co-presented by the New York Film Critics Circle. The screening series will feature more than 50 films, 36 of the 50 helmed by Hitchcock. Of those, 35 films will have showings in 35mm, including Hitchcock’s Rear WindowVertigo and North by Northwest. Francois Truffaut’s The Bride Wore Black and Henri-Georges Clouzot’s Dialbolique will be in 35mm as well.

The Paris Theater, opened in 1948, is still Manhattan’s only single-screen movie theater. Netflix acquired the 545-seat theater in 2019 and says the theater is “is the home for exclusive theatrical engagements, premieres, special events, retrospectives and filmmaker appearances.” Netflix also owns L.A.’s Bay Theater and Egyptian Theater.
