NDLEA Busts Kwara Polytechnic Student For Drug Sales To Colleagues, Intercepts Cocaine Hidden In Female Headgear En Route To Australia

On the same day, 29-year-old Ismail Isah was arrested along the Abuja-Kaduna highway after being found with an AK-47 rifle and two magazines hidden inside a sack of maize.

Ibrahim Oladimeji Abdulateef, a Higher National Diploma (HND) Year 1 student of the Department of Laboratory Science Technology at Kwara State Polytechnic, has been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) with illicit drugs.

Ibrahim was apprehended on Friday, May 16, for selling Loud, a potent strain of cannabis, to fellow students. Authorities seized 650 grams of the drug from him, already portioned into 149 cups.

This information was disclosed in a statement by Femi Babafemi, NDLEA Director of Media & Advocacy, on Sunday.

The NDLEA statement said, ”In Kwara state, no fewer than 199,200 pills of tramadol were recovered from two suspects: Abdulwahab Quadir and Abdulraheem Ismail on Friday 16th May following their arrest at Gegele area of Ilorin by NDLEA operatives who also raided Favour Lodge in the state capital where an HND 1 student of the Department of Laboratory Science Technology, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ibrahim Oladimeji Abdulateef was arrested with 650grams of Loud, a strong strain of cannabis already measured in 149 cups, which he sells to other students.”

In a separate operation, NDLEA officers from the Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) intercepted 250 grams of cocaine concealed inside female headgear at a courier company in Lagos. The shipment was destined for Australia.
